Schaefer Player of the Month: APRIL 2006

Congratulations, and a big frosty mug of Schaefer beer, to April's player of the month: TOM GLAVINE. This is Glavine's second consecutive win; he was the Schaefer Player of the Month in September 2005. Glavine becomes the second Met to repeat as a monthly winner. (Cliff Floyd won in April and June of last year.) Glavine remains the only pitcher ever to be named Schaefer Player of the Month. Among position players, newcomer Carlos Delgado was the leading point getter. Delgado led the overall voting for much of April, but Glavine pulled ahead for keeps on April 29 when he was awarded 5.18 points for his 1-0 victory over Atlanta.
