Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 That's a heck of a lineup. Welcome back Carlos.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Wow, the TBS announcers are terrible. They go through the Mets' defensive lineup. "Nady in right, a big upgrade."Earth to Don Sutton -- Nady's not Ichiro out there, and he replaced Mike Cameron.LoDuca comes up: "Looking at the Mets, you might be seeing their MVP right here."Earth to Chip Caray -- WTF?They then proceed to tell us that LoDuca's a tremendous defensive upgrade over Piazza, and the fact that the Mets have a better record and ERA shows that he can handle pitchers better.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I'm getting in-between innings banter here. Great. One of them is going online to look up the hotel the team is staying at in Miami.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 i wonder if they KNOW about that? could you imagine if they didnt and one of them said something that made Keith's comment look tame?
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 I HATE when leadoff doubles don't score a run.No excuse.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Glavine makes a nice play on Francoeur, throwing him out at first on a swinging bunt. Francoeur nearly takes Delgado's hand off while running down to first as Carlos was awaiting the throw.Interesting though, as Francoeur was clearly running out of the baseline.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Author Posted April 29, 2006 Great diving catch by Floyd saves at least a run, but he might've re-aggravated his injury.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Through 5:Mets: no runs, one hit, no errorsATL: no runs, four hits, no errors
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 LoDuca gets his first HR of the year.KABOOM!1-0 good guys.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Let's see him do it with the bat now.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 But Nady gets a two-out singly.GoKazGoKazGoKazGoKazGo!And nice looking goatee, man.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Intentional walk to Matsui to bring up the pitcher backfires as Thompson walks Glavine.Sacks are full for Reyes. We need some insurance. Come on Jose.
Guest cooby Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Gwreck wrote: "Looking at the Mets, you might be seeing their MVP right here." .I heard that too, I was looking down at a paper or something and looked up expecting to see Wright and was a little puzzled
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 It wasn't meant to be. Reyes flies out to left fielder Diaz in foul territory.Come on Glavine. Shut them down one more inning. Then it's up to the bullpen to hang on to the lead.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 slow IGT tonight...TBS' MVP LoDuca dribbles a single up the middle.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Tw'an for Delgado. This call to the bullpen brought to you by Seussville.com.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Beltran draws a walk to put Mets at first and second with none out. Delgado with a chance to add some insurance.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Golden colored sombrero for Delgado. If he has a bad night every 23 games, I'll take it.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Wright goes lookin'.Looked low to me.

Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Floyd flies to chipper on the outfield grass.Delgado, Wright, and Floyd together fail to even advance a runner. Floyd did barely get the ball out of the infield. You have to tip your hat to Remlinger for a great job of getting out of the inning.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Heilman mowes down LaRoche and Giles, then gets Renteria to ground to Wright at third for a 1-2-3 inning.
Guest Rockin' Doc Guests Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Come on offense. Just one stinking run of insurance. That's not too much to ask.
