On the FAN this morning, Ned Yost said he will limit Ben Sheets to 90 pitches. He is 100% and his fastball looks great, they are just treating it as his first start out of spring training, hence the pitch limit.

One thing Randolph seems loathe to do is have regulars switch positions, either covering for another regular on an off day or in a mid-game switch. The only exception I can think of from 2005 is Cameron playing center, and, even then, he had to go to Willie and explicitly request to cover center while Beltran was resting a sore leg.

That is, I think we'll see Woodward in center before Nady. I think we'll see Valentin at third before Nady also. Maybe not.

With Endy and Andy, the pitcher's spot is now the seventh best hitter in the lineup today.

This is why we need Kaz back, folks. When someone gets hurt, we lose that piece of the offense. Despite the hitting so far, we really can't afford a regular player with Hernandez's bat.

And Matsui is any better?

Our chances of dethroning the Braves are looking brighter and brighter...

I need some beers, thinking about the end of baseball and thinking of how this season could be a house of cards...I need beers

Uh, yes. Have you seen Andy hit?

No, its realizing Matsui was an expensive mistake and moving ON!

Hernandez may be another mistake, probably is, but lets not go back to an old problem to fix the new problem

That's incorrect.

You take the player on the team who performs best, and you start him.

It's common sense.

Anything else is stupidity.

Ah does even fucking matter any more. This season is looking more and more like a house of cards. Its going to end with another summer swoon, the Braves are going to win another division and the MFY are going to win their fucking 27th fucking title

Why, because we were made to suffer, its our lot in life

Matusi performs best. Okay, so you'll take a guy that sucks at the plate AND on the field over a guy who just sucks at the plate. Great... and there goes our division title chances

Right now, Anderson Hernandez is not a better ballplayer than Kaz Matsui. This is not a debate.

Maybe we should trade both for Cabrera and stick Miggy at 2nd?

Aww you know how this season is gonna go. Injury to Beltran, then Reyes is going to suddenly pop his string, Pedro is going to go down

The Braves make their ANNUAL summer run, be in first by Labor Day

The Mets will collapse and people here, MOFO, talk radio and fish hacks will be calling for trading off of all of our high priced talent for younger talent

The Yanks will once again win the fucking World Series and Met fans will wonder what the fuck is it going to take to take back this fucking town from those fucking front runners in the FUCKING BRONX

No, man, I don't know all that. That's why I'm watching today. Same as you.

My will to continue watching this season is dwindling though...Old staff, injury prone starters

Get me to Labor Day!

Plus 6 games coming up with the Braves, please tell me how this year will be different than any other over the last 10 years huh? The Braves can change their players and they still beat us EVERY. FUCKING. TIME.

Very nice. Bannister loads them up and then leaves them all out there, striking out two and getting Hardy to fly out.

He's got no command, but he's got nads. Big ones.

Yeah maybe the Mets should trade him for another oft-injured reclamation project ala Zambrano.

This season is becoming more and more mirage like...
