Guest vtmet Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 If you were to throw a no-hitter, but you drill 2 batters...is it still a no-hitter, or is a 2-hitter?
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Johnson hits a three run homer, 4 to 3 Mets, this is a test for Brian, is he rattled?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Crap! Nick fucking Johnson hits a 3-run homer, and the Mets lead is down to 4-3.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Soriano pops out. He needs one more to finish what is still a pretty good ML debut.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I like that Willie let him finish that inning, or that hitter at least.....
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Bannister strikes out Clayton to end the 6th.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 A fine debut. As much as we could possibly have asked of him. You've got to figure the control issues were due to it being his first start and all--he was very precise in the minors. Once he settles down a bit, we can expect him to do a little better.I suspect batters will figure him out the second time around, but that was pretty promising work.
Guest GYC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 And it's like 30 degrees. I don't like making excuses, but impressive debut nonetheless.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 For those with TV: what's up with the umpires / talking to the dugouts?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Keith Hernandez shouldn't be so obsessed with Duaner Sanchez's pants.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Stanton is pitching for Washington.I hate him.Not hat. Hate!

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Briging back Heilman after he went two innings in game one. I guess he's not starting any time soon.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 He whiffs Johnson with Guillen on first. Veddy nice.Johnson strikes me as exactly the type of batter Heilman would have trouble with.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 IMO, Darren Oliver on the roster seems to indicate that even if a starter's needed, Aaron's in the pen.I wonder if Aaron going back out tonight (after 2 innings Mon.) in this spot is a Willie/Peterson thing to build confidence/favorable opinion/etc. for Heilman in his bullpen role.I was thinking we'd have seen Julio in this inning.Edit: spelling/grammar.
Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 HOLY SHIT. CATCH OF THE FUCKING YEAR!!!
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Anderson Hernandez makes an amazing diving catch to end the 8th, then gives us alll heart attacks by not getting up for several minutes. But it looks like he just had the wind knocked out of him, thankfully!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I love the play to put Heilman in there. I was worried that Willie would misuse him in the pen, but Willie clearly learned his lesson last year. And Aaron gets Byrd to pop up, ending the inning.3 outs away from Bannister's first career win.

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 I do like to see Aaron coming in in the late innings.
Guest GYC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 One of the best catches I've ever seen. AMAZING.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 Stupid, stupid fans. You don't boo after a battling, 10-pitch at bat. This needs to stop.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 ]I was worried that Willie would misuse him in the pen, but Willie clearly learned his lesson last year. Yeah, I remember that. You and me, we fought. Chairs were splintered, glass broken. Good times.

Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted April 5, 2006 Posted April 5, 2006 ]Stupid, stupid fans. You don't boo after a battling, 10-pitch at bat. This needs to stop. What's to be done? I'd like it if Delgado and/or somebody unimpeachable like Wright said something like "No, I'm not coming out for any curtain calls until they stop booing my teammate."But I don't see that working. It certainly wouldn't work unless Wright took the lead. If Delgado or Willie takes the lead it's colored folk against a sea of bloodthisty whiteys.Besides, Beltran's going deep as soon as Martinez takes the mound.
