Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Even better, he's on the mound!Mr. Wright and Lo Duca collide trying to get a pop-up, resulting in a runner at first to start the game.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Jeezus. Three batters, 3 bunt attempts, 3 outs.
TransMonk Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Pedro looked decent throwing 3 innings of shutout ball. Didn't seem like he was throwing at 100% velocity, but he did mix in all of his pitches but the cut fastball. Leaves the game with a 1-0 lead.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Big inning off Benson (helped by a world class drop in center).Six-Love Metskies
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 I'm sorry. The O's tried three straight bunts? Were they trying to exploit the toe?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Anderson Hernandez has a sweet high Jackson Five voice.

Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Its been enjoyable watching the Orioles play like a little league team in the field. And the Mets have brought their lumber.14 hits so far.Me likey
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Zambrano with five innings in relief and has kept 'em scoreless.Strikes out the first batter of his sixth inning and he's up to 85 pitches. How about that?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Game over. Eight-zip.Eight ! ! !Damn, Zambrano even had a changeup working.I love the MLB.com feed because I get the between-innings banter. Darling is thanking Gary for correcting him off the mic when Darling said that Mike Jacobs was with Baltimore.Gary laughed goofily about the Orioles, saying "Get ready to do some serious running, boys."
Guest KC Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Missed the game, but recorded it only to find for the second time in a week(I recorded The Sopranos on Sun) the recording didn't take to the disc?It just occured to me that maybe you can't record HDTV on a conventionalDVD? Anyone know? Feh.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 They're replaying the game on SNY tonight, if you want to give it a second try.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Kinda weird that they pulled Pedro after only 30-some pitches - especially with a 6-pitch 3rd as his last inning and that he's thrown upwards of 80 during simulated action (isn't 'simulated action' what got George Michael in trouble with the law?).Maybe that was planned in order to get Victor his work in and Petey threw some more on the side afterward. Such throwing isn't uncommon in cases like this although no one in the booth said anything (unless I missed it).'SOkay anyway. Zamby looked real good: batters were flinching all day. Now if only ... Real bad O's defense. Some of that is prolly a 1-day thing but Millar is a real bad 1st baseman.Even some non-errors hurt Benson. Corey Patterson was a BA #1 overall prospect in part based on a rep as a ball-hawking CFer but loafed toward Delgado's blooper in LF and never came close to it. The fact that he's never learned to get on base in the majors hasn't helped his case either.Nice DP started by Andy-Hernandy (partly missed cuz they were talking to Mazzone). I just wish I was more sure that the guy could hit; I've seen 2 of those 'running slap-bunts' already this Spring (neither came close to working) and I've only caught a handful of innings so far.

Yeah, I was surprised they didn't say "Hold on, Leo. There's a great doubleplay there, Hernandez to Reyes to Delgado to end the inning. Leo, can you talk with us some more next inning? Mets 6, O's 0 after six"--bad job of controlling the mike, IMO.
Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted March 26, 2006 Posted March 26, 2006 Leo Mazzoneis fulla baloneyWhether a Brave or an OHis Baltimore staffwill win less than halftheir starts, and his relievers blow.So how smart is Leo?He has mental B.O.that stinks worse than five day old haddocks. He misses Tom Glavineand Smoltz, and is havin'regrets about leaving Greg Maddox. He'll beg of Kris Benson"Can you go again, son?I'm lacking that steady rotationThat made me seem clever--'Best Pitching Coach Ever'--and now I'm the worst in the nationNow an ignoramous,I used to be famousfor teaching young throwers to pitch. But now I'm exposed, My staff wears no clothes,Naked payback is one ugly bitch. With Darling and Cohen,I act like I'm knowin'which end is up (bullshit and banter)--It was easy to seemAs good as my teamWith the players I had in Atlanta."
