nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 ugliest uniforms in the world for cuba, especially those red pants.just wanted to let anyone who cares know that its on channel 9.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 its 7-1 in the 5th though this wasn't really such bad baseball.
Guest KC Guests Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Beltran just hit the bajeezus of a homer - 12-1 Puerto Rico. The game really has been kinda entertaining although it's lopsided. The finalrounds of this exhibition won't suck as much as I thought it might. It's morefun than spring training games and it's baseball to hold us over a few more weeks.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2006 Author Posted March 10, 2006 its baseball and its on TV which is good enough for now...
Guest KC Guests Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 I hope a couple of them sneak away and defect.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 10, 2006 Posted March 10, 2006 Both teams advance anyway. And will play again in Round 2. I wonder why the WBC isn't set up so that each of the pools in the second round has only one team from each of the pools in the first round so there would be no rematches?
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2006 Author Posted March 11, 2006 idk.with the exception of the asian pool all the games were played in Puerto Rico, Florida, and Arizona right?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 In retrospect, the Cubans were a hair from being eliminated in this thing.Once Panama tied the game up in the 9th the other day on a bases-loaded HBP, the next batter Rueben Rivera danced out of the way of another HBP which would have ended the game (if Craig Biggio was at bat they would have won). Now I know you could say that Cuba would have played last night's game differently had they been facing elimination - but it's tough to just explain away a mercy-rule beating merely by saying 'well, we weren't really trying all that hard'.Cuba & PR also had themselves a bit of a beanball war in their game.Is that our Santiago pitching for PR? He's the guy who took the ejection - along w/manager Oquendo - for the final HBP and got hisself a bushel of handshakes from his teammates for the act.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted March 11, 2006 Posted March 11, 2006 Or sign with the Mets and become superstars. That would be even better.
