Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I think Spring Training is a good time to promote the Adopt A Prospect Forum. For new users and old users who haven't been there in a while the basic concept is to find a player -- any player -- in the Mets farm system who has not yet appeared in a MLB game. Start a thread for this player in the AAPF and give us regular updates on that player's progress or lack therof (for example, big games, monthly stats, promotions/demotions within the farm system, injuries, etc.). You can set up email updates with Google news to keep you informed of what's happening in your prospect's life. With any luck, one day your adoptee will make his New York Mets debut and we all will be enriched by knowing his history. For those of you who have already adopted prospects, I ask you to go to the forum and update your threads if you intend to continue to follow that player this season. I'd like to archive the AAPF to move out players who are no longer with the Mets (like my own two adoptees) and those whose adopters are no longer interested. Please update -- even to say "bump" -- by noon on Thursday Mar. 16th. I will archive inactive threads that afternoon.

Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Deadline today. Extended because it looks like there are a whole lot of live prospects unbumped. I'll archive them next Thursday.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 May I voice an objection?I think we should be able to hold on to all of our prospects.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Hold onto as many as you like. Just bump the thread and it will be safe. I'm just trying to clear out the prospects that are either no longer with the Mets or no longer holding the interest of their adoptive parent. I actually bumped one of yours before I decided that I was not up to sorting out everyone else's intentions.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted March 16, 2006 Posted March 16, 2006 I saw that you bumped my boy Joe. I'll bump my other two boys.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted March 16, 2006 Author Posted March 16, 2006 Thanks.Oh great, Cooby's going to hate me now.
