Can't recall where we had this discussion before, so FU thread police.

I got 39 names on the Mets.com 40-man roster and 39 on Edgeward;s thread (not sure if they're the same 39) so I suppose its possible we can add somebody in tommorrow's draft, perhaps from the "Scott Saurbeck Group" described in this nifty preview:

Mine has Keppel whom I don't recall the Mets removing.

Their has Self whom I thought I recalled the Mets removing.

The Mets roster has Concepcion.

Mine also has Hamulack double-listed, which I've just now fixed.

So, it's mets.com with 39, including Concepcion and and Self.

Edgy's with 38, including Keppel.

He's not added yet.

News reports Mets could lose Ring (?), MacLane and/or McGinley.

28-y.o. RHP 3-5, 4.50 for the Fresno Grizzlies last year, 58/15 in 66 IP.

Nine years in Whitte Sox org., signed by Giantss out of the Northern League.

Looks like a pretty long shot.

]Marlins - Dan Uggla, 2b, Diamondbacks

In the category of Major Leagers who had to fight a lot as children.

Or Mariner's reliever JJ Putz.

Back to topic.
The Mets did lose two players in the secondary (minor league) phase of the draft:

]B-Mets SS David Bacani was selected by the Red Sox, and B-Mets RHP Celso Rondon was selected by Tampa Bay in todays Rule V Draft

No other Mets were selected

Too bad about Bacani.

That makes 2 Luis Gonzali for the Rockies. They just need the one in Arizona for a trifecta.

John Sickels' take:

]New York NL: Mitch Wylie, RHP, from Giants
4.50 ERA, 58/15 K/BB in 66 innings for Triple-A Fresno. 28 years old, with a mediocre minor league track record. Throws strikes but hasn't had an ERA lower than 4.34 since 1999. A non-exciting pick.
