Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 According to Mets.com, Duaner was transferred to the 60-day DL. I guess that made room for DiFelice on the 40-man roster. The Mets already had Bannister, Padilla and Victor Zambrano on the 60-day DL though, and I thought the limit was 3 60-day DL slots that don't count against the 40 man limit. Strange.--Ricky Ledee was signed to the 40-man roster on Tuesday, with Anderson Garcia DFAed to make room. After Tuesday's game, Marrerro was DFAed and Ledee added to the 25-man roster.Assuming that Duaner doesn't count against the 40, that leaves the Mets with an open spot on the 40-man roster.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 Bannister's no longer on the DL.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 I read that Anderson Garcia (the last of the Bemitez freight) was designated to make room on the 40

MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 According to today's Daily News, that apparent roster spot will be filled by Ruben Rivera if he is able to play. He is currently caring for a seriously ill mother, and it is not certain if/when he can return to baseball.Later

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ="Edgy DC"]A lot of journeymen stumbling into Met uniforms of late.I was curious as to why Victor Diaz didn't warrant the callup so I went to the Tides site to investigate only to discover wow, they're crappy! We really have no close-to-ML-ready position prospects.I guess Victor's .219-8-35 in AAA isn't going to get him a ticket to NY anytime soon.

Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Ramon Castro has been moved to the 60-day DL.Additionally, if they are going to pitch Bannister on Friday and Oliver Perez on Saturday as reported, Lastings Milledge might be temporarily reassigned to Norfolk.

Something like, if the team won't be impacted by his staying off the DL, that's what he'd prefer to do.
