Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Did Marlon Anderson do something nice that I'm forgetting about? I suspect the vote for him was intended for Anderson Hernandez.

Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Yes - I meant to give Anderson Hernandez props for getting his first Major League hit. So edited. That kid needs a nickname.

Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Thanks Scarlett, but as I've said before, it's easier for me if we don't vote by nickname. If we do this again in 2006 I'll have to emphasize that a little bit more.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Well, lately I've taken to calling our young first baseman Jake Monster Jacobs. That kind of thing helps me remember whom I meant better, but the addition of the last name makes it clearer for you. Does something like that work for you?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Putting "Jake Monster Jacobs" lets me know who you mean, but I still have to edit your vote to standardize it. The perfect way to vote for him would be to simply put "Jacobs." For the same reason, I prefer "Martinez" to "Pedro" and "Floyd" to "Cliffy."This won't really matter again until April, if we do this again. (Unless we take Valadius' suggestion and vote on the almost 7,000 games that were played before 2005. NOT!) And at that point I may post a note specifying the ideal way to vote.
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Maybe it will take years, and I'll be the only one around to see it finished. But with about 180 days between now and the beginning of next season, we could get something done on that front.
