Elster88 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Damn. I was about to post a pretty chart.I take back everything nice that I said about Willie. Let Kaz play until his legs fall off. He's hitting .370 in September for crying out loud.____________________________This post had the designation 152) Anthony Young
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Sorry, I don't mean to hog the IGT's.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 One of the rags said Matsui tweaked a hammy last night, so that might be why. What I don't understand is why Anderson Hernandez--who has been recalled and is in uniform--didn't get the start instead of Cairo. Most likely because Hernandez doesn't have the requisite experience to start. Trachs looks ugly, although he should have been out of the inning on a two-out ground out to Wright. Wright bounced a throw to Jacobs, who couldn't handle it, and Andruw reached on the error. Giles, who walked then stole second, scored on the play. Then LaRouche hit a two-run homer. Reyes & Diaz down pretty quickly, then consecutive walks to Beltran & Floyd.Did anyone catch McCarver & whats-his-name talk about all the bitches they'd be bagging if they were in Franceour's shoes? It was pretty embarassing.I'm paraphrasing here:W:"Can you imagine being 21 and single in Atlanta while batting .305?"M:"I'd be living alone, that's for sure!"
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Bases loaded after Wright walks and Piazza lines the first pitch he sees to center. Andruw traps it clear as day and the MOTHERFUCKING UMPS CALL HIM OUT!!!!!!!Worst fucking call I've seen all year. Unfuckingbelieveable. I hate fucking baseball.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 It's all just one big test to see if I'll crack. I know what they're all up to, I betsome of you are in on it too. I'll just keep watching, you can't crack me.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 I can't believe it's only the end of the third inning ... 5-2 Braves after a ...
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 If Piazza hadn't gotten punked, it'd be at least a 5-4 game.Baseball sucks.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Piazza says, this KABOOM is for rottie on the cpf!!!
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Jacobs says, this KABOOM toasts the future!
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Mike Piazza--robbed of a bases-loaded single & stolen on three times--unleases his frustration on a poor defenseless ball. That must have been really, really satisfying for himAnd he gets a curtain call for it too. Then Jacobs launches one into right to go back to back. The score in "Perfect Umpiring World" is 6-5, NY Mets. Back here in the real world, it's 4-5, Braves.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Reyes FINALLY hits one on the ground after popping up twice and he gets a single.
Guest KC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Floyd looking a little hobbled again - if he's having trouble walking he shouldprobably be shut down for the rest of the year.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Bleh. Jacobs flied out to left (just got under a pitch), Cairo walked, then Offerman (pinch hitting for Trachsel) ground into a double play. Why Offerman, Willie? Takatsu in in the seventh.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Takatsu comes in and immediately gives up a home run. I hat him.
Guest Rotblatt Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Takatsu gives up a homer to Giles and the Braves tie it up, 6-6. Or, for those of you in the real world, the Braves extend their lead to 6-4.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Is it my imagination or does everything off an Atlanta bat - hard or soft, line or fly, long or short - find some grass somewhere?
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Somebody should call 1-800-BUY-AHIT and put out a contract on Giles.Or maybe I'm just jealous that we don't have a "beat you any way I can" pain in the ass sparkplug* fucker like him at the top of our order. He annoys me more tan any other Brave.* = I reached my limit for adjectives in this sentence.Later
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 All right, I'm coming down from my Jay Satan perch and posting again.Did anyone else feel a torch being handed off when Piazza and Jacobs went back-to-back?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Who called putting Cameron Diaz in the 2-hole? I knew it would work.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Did you know it would work during his 2 Ks and GO or just after his single?
Valadius Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 It's better than Cairo, isn't it?

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Hey, I've got no problem putting Diaz 2nd, I like the move in fact. But sometimes we're so anxious for a move to work that we declare it a success before it ever is. Diaz is a very average 1/4 today and hasn't had a hand in any of the scoring.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Two more piece of shit hits create a run.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Trachsel, who was scandal of the week when he was kept out of the rotation for a few days, is now 1-3, 3.42

It's really only meaningful over part of a season. That being said, if the goal is to give more at bats to your best hitters (which it SHOULD be), then this move already is a success, since Diaz is a much better hitter than Cairo or Matsui.
