Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Piazza's criticism of the metal-ness of an XM radio station winds up getting his DJ Buddy fired. Ooops.http://eddietrunk.com/columns/trunkreport.php
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Eddie Trunk looks like a walrus. All he really needs is the tusks
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 What happened to Maiden at the final Ozzfest show?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 First off: Joan rocks. Her brand of pop punk clearly isn't Dokken-Dude's idea of hard rock.Second of all: Whoever hoped satellite radio was siezing the airwaves from the corporate culture --- from the man --- maybe hoped too soon.Third of all: The Boneyard sounds like a terrible name and I don't intend to listen to it until it changes it's name.Fourth of all: This guy, for a hard-rocker, is bending over backwards to not blame the multi-millionnaire who started this mess. Or to really vent directly at anybody, for that matter.Fifth of all: Maybe Mike's going into the satellite radio business next year. Sounds like he knows how programming should be done and owes somebody a job.
Guest OlerudOwned Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 ="ScarletKnight41"]What happened to Maiden at the final Ozzfest show?Sharon Osborne is a complete asshole. She had people throw eggs at Maiden, they kept getting the power cut on them, Sharon had people start chanting "We want Ozzy" during Maiden's set, etc. All together, completely unprofessional bull on her part. Which is saddening, especially because as much as I like Sabbath, I'd listen to the worst of Maiden before the best of solo Ozzy.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 First: What OO said - Sharon really crossed the line.Second: Eddie Trunk kicks ass, and it sucks that he got screwed like this.Third: If I owned a media company, I'd give Mike Piazza and Eddie Trunk a show. That'd be good times.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 In that case, Trunk was right. She should have dropped them from the program if she was upset with them, but setting them up for that kind of treatment was horrible.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 This is really lame by XM,Eddie Trunk does a good show, SNR has survived a few stations and will survive this.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 >>>I'd listen to the worst of Maiden before the best of solo Ozzy.<<<*jaw drops to desk*Randy Rhodes kicked ass.

Guest Beenso Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 i am an XM subscriber and i love it, but this is so hypocritical of them. The reason people listen to and work for XM is because they are given the freedoms that aren't available on regular radio. O & A bash the hell out of XM on a regular basis and unlike Piazza, they are actually employees. That is just a ridiculous story.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 Here's my half-baked theory. The generation of female rockers who call themselves Riot Grrrls have made an icon of Joan Jett. Joan, even though they're largely a bunch of poseurs, has let them, in order to get access to their audiences. They actually wear tattoos that say "WWJJD" ("What Would Joan Jett Do?"). They're devout, archly feminist, and angry as Hell at the man, and use hard rock to grind their axes. One or two of them heard a Republican Playboy bunny-chasing multi-millionaire dis their queen, and they started firing up the chatboards and listserves, networking for a shutdown, and nasty chicks --- some perhaps who've never heard a minute of XM programminng --- have made XM vp's life a lot less cushy than it had previously been.I'll let you know if my idea is ever done baking.
Guest KC Guests Posted August 31, 2005 Posted August 31, 2005 That picture makes me laugh out loud everytime I see it. >>>Dave Murray kicks more ass.<<<If that's what you like that's what you like. No need to be dismissive of two great albums, three if you count 'Tribute', just 'cause the Osbournes are asses.
