Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Although the Internet Fanboi Scoop Press Association reports the Mets are trying to deal for Jamie Moyer (and that "all was quiet on the Yankee front" as they actually were dealing for Matt Lawton), Omar in the papers today says lots of waiver blocking out there and it's likely we'll go to the end with what we have.Ishii is being looked at as a LOOGY -- Hamulack, Ring, Takatsu, Graves and Santiago other bullpen options once rosters expand.Daubach, Valent and Anderson Hernandez likely call-ups offensively -- all good by me.The Giants will be without OF Michael Tucker for today's game, but we'll see him on Tuesday -- he was traded to Philly for a Class A pitcher last nite.Slow healing and liggybone issues could end Piazza's season, Newsday's headline implies -- IOW, nothing's certain.Minky hit 2 doubles in FSL last night.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Why would the Mets want Jamie Moyer?
Guest PiazzaFan411 Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Are the Mets that desperate? We got enough pitchers. But we could use another closer. Looper sucks
Guest holychicken Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 I don't understand Moyer at all. . . we don't need starters, we need relievers and then batters.
nymr83 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 ]Mets are trying to deal for Jamie Moyer this makes no sense.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Internet Fanboi Scoop Press AssociationAgain, I ask, "what is this?" A real source?
Diamond Dad Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 We need Moyer like a hole in the head. Omar's not that dumb
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 The 'IFSPA' is Dickshot's name for fans with internet columns playing journalist. They often try to draw attention to themselves either by "scooping" the mainstream media by being the first to "report" breaking news, or by trumpeting various rumors into seeming like more than they really are.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Iow, virtually any reaction to this report is an over-reaction.

Guest Bret Sabermetric Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 When Piazza says he's healing well, watch out. ]When Randolph says he's not considering a 6-man rotation, pencil it in.When Benson says his shoulder feels fine, look for starting pitchers to acquire.
