Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 PiazzaFan seems to undervalue the efforts of starting pitchers. He (she) only gave Trachsel three points for Friday's game.

But I have an easier time coming up with 10 points for some games than for others.I missed most of this game, so I have to look over the box score and see whether I can get to 10 for this one.

seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 Me too... I feel bad voting for games of which I didn't at least see a good chunk. The boxscore doesn't necessary tell the whole tale. Maybe a guy who went 0-for-4 was much more worthy because of a key groundout or a key defensive play than a guy who had three worthless singles.
Guest PiazzaFan411 Guests Posted August 28, 2005 Posted August 28, 2005 First of Yancy, I am a guy.Second. Yes I do undervalue the pitchers. I know pitchers are a crucial part o the game but i think that it's the greatness of the batters and the suckiness of the other teams pitcher. I will start thinking about giving more value to the starters. I just think 6 starters is one too many.-PiazzaFan411

I will start thinking about giving more value to the starters. I just think 6 starters is one too many. I'm not following this at all. The greatness of the Mets batters and the suckiness of the other team's pitcher combined to give the Mets all of one run. I'm also not sure how the rotation size would play into who the outstanding player of the game is.
Guest PiazzaFan411 Guests Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Look, this was my first day posting in the PoTG and I wasn't sure what to do.
