Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 We are working on a Mets documentary and we would like to interview with a ton of die-hard Mets fans from the NY/NJ/CT Tri-State area. We want all ages and races. We are primarily looking for people who live and breathe the Mets and want to share some of their wacky stories with us. Mets families are a plus and Metsaholics are key. Also, if you know of any Mets events going on other than the game let us know.Florida Fans: We will be down in Port St Lucie from August 26 - 30th so email us if you'd like to do an interview. Please reply to METSAHOLIC322@YAHOO.COM.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Thanks for stiffing us non local fans
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Could you tell us more about this project? For whom are you making the documentary?
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 The purpose of this documentary is to document the love affair between Mets fans and their team. Each year players come and go. Managers are hired or ownership changes hands. A new stadium is built or the team picks up and leaves all together. There are only two constants in baseball; the game and the fans. In our opinion their stories are the most interesting of all and, as yet, untold. We're not making it for any big company, it's because we love the team and stuff like this is really fun to do. We plan on entering it into festivals.
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 If you have an awesome story we'll come to you. We've traveled to meet a bunch of fans.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Must. come. up. with. story.Channelling Jim Beauchamp... Channelling Jim Beauchamp...Hey, is there money in this gig?
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I'm not sure I understand the question. Are we paying people to interview with us? Or do I get paid? And the answer for both is NO.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I wish I had a decent story, have you contacted Pete Flynn?, he surely has a bunch of memories on the Mets.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 Well, you didn't have to rub it in with the all-caps.Yeah, I've got a story. I live in Washington, but it's a goodie.
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I did send Pete an email. Thank you. And Washington isn't far, so what is your story? We'll actually be there for the games.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 If you look at this thread, it certainly does appear that metsaholic knows how to use the reply feature. I wonder why s/he doesn't use it more often?
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Hey, remember that Smart Kid thing you used to be able to get on AOL Instant Messenger? You would ask a question and it would give a somewhat relevant but not real in depth answer to whatever you asked?I'll bet it's something like that! And every two hours, it's programmed to just start the same threads over. It's a robot, ew, creepy.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 But could a robot respond to Edgy's question?
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I liked our 100th member way more than our 101st.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 At least he found the wacky crowd he wanted
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 My internship didn't come with a HOW TO guide for posting. But thanks to you guys now I know and it only took a minute.
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Wow! You guys are really amazing. I only wish that I could be as in-the-know as you losers. Excuse me for working on my career. I can tell by your tireless efforts on this site that you have done a lot with your life. I would love to interview the 5 "way too cool" met fans that never log off of this site. Actually, on second thought I'll make sure to include a special SHOUT OUT to you all in the documentary. And don't worry, I'll be sure to let you know when HBO will air it.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 You do that, HBO costs good money and I'd like to see something worth while for once
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 What a use for the Paul Siebert post.
Guest cooby Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 How did this go from an indy film for film festivals last night to an HBO production today?
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 This is too funny.I have to confess that I invited her to join us.Joe Christopher doesn't show up, but the filmmaker does. I've got to stop inviting people here.
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 No worries Yancy - one day we'll all laugh about this.In all fairness, one needs a thicker skin in order to succeed in the film biz. This really should have been more of a "laughing with" kind of thing.
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I am not a her, I am a he. Thank you.
Guest Yancy Street Gang Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 I just hope that this didn't cause Edgy to lose his chance to be an HBO star like Tony Soprano and Al Swearengen.
Guest metsaholic322 Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Thanks for that tip. Who said I wasn't laughing? C'mon I am entitled to come back with sarcasm when I am the center of the joke.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 19, 2005 Posted August 19, 2005 Now I've got a strange and fascinating new story to tell.
