Zvon Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I figured (or hoped) months ago that Trachsel coming back would make a difference if the Mets were still in it. A fresh arm down the stretch without need of a move. He usually goes deep into games. Ishii was inconsistant, but now Seo is in, and pitchin very well in that spot. Mets wont move Trashy to the pen, and they dont want to go to a 6 man rotation.Do the Mets move an arm for a bat?Which arm? I would have said Glavine a month or so ago, but he may still prove to be an asset if the Mets are gonna make a run for it. Look how well he pitched last time out.If they trade Trash and he excels somewhere else, well, that makes for bad press about Omar and the Mets. If the Mets can stay in it and make a run for the wildcard (or on the outside, the division), its going to come down to pitching, and how do the Mets make the best of what they have available? You cant let Trachsels arm and experience go to waste here. But you want Seo in the mix. If you were makin the calls, what would you do?

Kinda like a werewolf, but without the wolfisity. And I tip my hat for your keen perception into my name, which should be pronounced Ze-von in honor of the late great Warren Zevon. My first name actually is Warren, but thats top secret information so everyone please disavow any knowledge of this sentence.
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 You're our hundredth member.Last thing a guy should do is fear bad press.I don't know. Two possible options are (1) Trading Glavine, and (2) bullpenning Seo.

It still comes back to Glavine if they go the trade route, and Seo is pitching well but he dont have the seniority Trash does. Cripes, so many things could go wrong in this scenario. And I do believe its important.(watch trash come back, pitch like garbage, and glavine pitches a no hitter 1st time out with his new team, lol)
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 You know, Trax has been a solid back of rotation starter ever since he went down for the Norfolk cure back in 2001. I'm hoping that he comes back from his injury in good form - he's a good guy to have on your staff when he's doing well.
Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted August 18, 2005 Posted August 18, 2005 I still like the idea of a sixer, at least a couple of times through.
