thats what a manager should do...get off his ass and argue a call like that....not stand there like a moron

Stop it. Willie has superpowers and used them to get himself a payback call.

Oh, Marlon, stretching practice --- 9:30.

First base ump hasn't shined.

I don't like pine tarred batting helmets.

Looks like an eight-whiff night for Pedro.

Berkman looked out by a hair to me - could have gone either way.

On the Cameron play; I think there's some goofy and rarely called rule where the OFer has to complete a clean transfer in order for it to be called a catch (someone needs to consult a rule book here). It's a stupid rule (and that's why it's almost never called) and how often have you seen a guy just run in with the ball in his glove ... and it's not like the ump waits to make a call there.

Fortunately we got out of it but I suspect the rule is why Willie wasn't out arguing - although I would have liked to see it anyway.

i like willie. it just seems like whenever there is any sort of questionable call he either sits there and stares or he strolls out and asks the umpire if he had a nice holiday season.

hes gotta start showing some emotion......maybe just once in awhile.

Hernandez, soon to be traded to Boston, has been better than Looper this year, tough to dig in on that.

These type of games rarely turn out well for the road team.

I just hope they don't use this game as a panic excuse to "do something".

I blame Beltran for this loss. It's unreasonable and petty, but he looked terrible at the plate tonight.

This was a brutal fucking loss. I'm getting a sinking feeling of dejavu here. We're technically in it but we've now lost 3 of 4, 2 against the worst team in baseball and one--against a main competitor for the WC slot--featuring our bonafide ace against a AAA scrub.

Meanwhile, rumors of Win-Now! trades which would decimate our farm system are flying.

They won't pan out, Omar. Tweak the roster, but just because we CAN make a deal doesn't mean we should.

ARGH!! What a frustrating day for Mets baseball.

So bloody true, tough loss, you have to win when Pedro pitches that good, Beltran is lost right now, time to sit him for a few games?

Hell, yes, let's give him a few days off. Send down Williams, call up Valent or Diaz, and give Beltran a day or three off in the next week to see if he can get him right.

We NEED him to be the Beltran of the last three years if we're going to break out of mediocrity this year. Willie should be doing everything possible to get him comfortable.

And I should also add, it needs to happen soon. If the Mets don't make any moves and lose this series to Houston, Mets fans are going to boo the shit out of Beltran when he gets back to Shea on Tuesday, and I seriously doubt that's going to help him come around.

How about dropping Cammie back to sixth and bumping Beltran and everybody else up one? We had him second in Washington and it helped him... oh, I don't know.

Funny, I was thinking the same thing yesterday. Still am really.

I'm thinking this, too. Last night was a rough night for me.

Four strikeouts his last game. A careless error in this game. Getting picked off first after nearly getting picked off just moments before. #@$%@ #!)#(!) Cameron.

Sorry. Had to get that off my chest.
