duan Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 any recent met draftees on show in the elimination games that's on right now between Baylor and Oregon St?How does this work; if you're drafted to you still play?
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Yes, you're still eligible to play so long as you don't sign a contract, and of course no one who just had a week or so worth of games remaining would sign a deal until their run is over. The quick signees are usually either the HS kids or the later-round guys whose seasons are already done. There's also very little bargaining to go on once you get past the first few rounds anyway.Mets didn't seem to draft a whole ton of players from major colleges this year so I don't think any of those still involved are one of ours.Top pick Pelfrey was a Witchita State guy but they didn't make it to the tourney.
