Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Having the Crane Pool Companion pointed out to me brought me to those other links which I hadn't realized were there.MBTN is an amazing resource, but...Cliff Cook as outfielder? He played a few games there, but...? Kevin Elster as reserve inflielder?
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Cook:Games played by position 1962: Third Base 16, Right Field 10, Outfield 101963: Outfield 21, Third Base 9, Left Field 8, First Base 5, Right Field 2, Center Field 1 25 at third, 31 in the outfield. I guess he's an OF.Elster:He was a backup infielder in 1986, when he wore #2. He wore different numbers in other years (15 in '92, 21 when he played every day from 88-91). Read the "21" blurb and you'll see he's listed as a regular. So MBTN is technically right.

Theoldmole Old-Timey Member Posted June 20, 2005 Author Posted June 20, 2005 I stand corrected on Cook, and way, way corrected on Elster. I hadn't realized he had a different number in his backup days. But boy, I really thought of Cook as a third baseman. That's a surprise to me.
