Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 So tonight was the (stereotype) Met fan's dream:* Piazza out from behind the plate - and there was a passed ball and the Mariners ran wild anyway* Matsui off of 2nd - and there was a botched grounder and dropped pop fly anyway* Diaz in for Cameron - and he never got the ball out of the infieldAny other suggestions geniuses??
Guest Edgy DC Guests Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 To be fair, I don't think a start by Ishii was part of that dream.I'm a Met fan, let me go to sleep and see.
Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 To be honest, Ishii's been a lot worse some nights -- but I suppose with a 2-0 count and 2nd & 3rd you oughta just not fool around with Ichiro. The D did Ishii few favors and the O still less. It's on WWSB, sorta, that he got burned again with a base open.I'm fairly confident by now that Heilman does at least a bad a job as Ishii as our No. 5, and maybe better. His body language just looks better. So I suppose I'm saying, Let's write off this trade and surrender the plan to get better value in a trade. It's by no means all Ishii's fault -- but we're tumbling out of relevancy at a fantastic pace thanks mainly to the O but somebody has to pay.Positives: Wright & Reyes each had some good swings tonight.

Guest Johnny Dickshot Guests Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 I caught Heilman in mid-pitch at Shea recently. This was the last pitch of the 6-9 game IIRC.
Willets Point Old-Timey Member Posted June 18, 2005 Posted June 18, 2005 Why is Beltran watching from the stands instead of the dugout?
Guest ScarletKnight41 Guests Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 Did anyone listen to the game on the radio Friday? If so, did Gary Cohen wish D-Dad a Happy Father's Day?My FIL just called, and apparently he got to the radio guys and asked Gary to wish his son in NJ a Happy Father's Day. If anyone heard the greeting, let me know.
