The beginning of this week sees Philly in Toronto as Christopher Sanchez looks to restart a scoreless streak. His 50+ inning streak was broken when he gave up a run, just one, in his last start. Other than that one he hasn't been scored upon since late April.

The Nats continue out west where they'll be in San Francisco starting later tonight.

The Braves and Marlins have Monday off. Braves head to Chicago's south side where they'll take on the vastly improved White Sox. The Marlins will host the DBacks starting Tuesday.

The Yanx, coming off a rain-shortened two game series split with Boston, have their second series with the Guardians in a week. Cleveland took two of three in da Bronx a week ago. This week the scene moves to Cleveland where the Yanx jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the 1st.

That's the third-longest scoreless-inning streak in history — but the longest modern streak in captivity outside of Los Angels.

  1. Orel Hershiser, Dodgers, 1988: 59 IP
  2. Don Drysdale, Dodgers, 1968: 58 IP
    • Walter Johnson, Senators, 1913: 55 2/3 IP (generally not counted, as 1913 is "Pre-Modern" or "Dead-Ball Era" or the like)
  3. Cristopher Sánchez, Phillies, 2026: 50 2/3 IP
  4. Bob Gibson, Cardinals, 1968: 47 IP (Drysdale's streak was still going when Gibson started his in Game One of a doubleheader at Shea Stadium, and Drysdale was the winning pitcher when Gibson's streak ended)
  5. Zack Greinke, Dodgers, 2015: 45 2/3 IP (the pennant-winners-to-be 2015 Mets ended this one)
  6. Carl Hubbell, Giants, 1933: 45 1/3 IP (long live the screwball)
  7. Sal Maglie, Giants, 1950: 45 IP
  8. Zac Gallen, Diamondbacks, 2022: 44 1/3 IP (a surprising name compared to the legends above, but probably a better pitcher than one might appreciate, after accounting for the Arizona run environment and the short workdays of the latter-day starting pitcher)
  9. Brandon Webb, Diamondbacks, 2007: 42 IP (a whole lot of NL West action here
  10. Tie:
    1. Clayton Kershaw, Dodgers, 2014: 41 IP
    2. Ted Lyons, White Sox, 1926: 41 IP (somehow Walter Johnson in 1913 doesn't count but Lyons in 1926 does, but hey!  Congratulations, American League!  You mde the list!)
    3. Luis Tiant, Indians, 1968: 41 IP (the third and final 1968 pitcher on this list, the second American Leaguer, and until Sanchez, the only foreign-born player of the group)

Wild one in Oakland wait Sacramento DAMMIT Vegas last night as the Brewers top the A's 15-14 in twelve innings.

Ace Kyle Harrison gave up eight runs in less than three innings, but the Brewers clawed all the way back, scoring two in the top of the ninth to send it to extras.

The Brewers scored four in the top of the 10th, which the A's answered with four of their own in the bottom half. Scoreless 11th, then our ol' buddy Jeff McNeil threw it past the catcher, allowing the Brewers to score what would be the game winning run.

Love win probability charts that look like this!

So while we're dealing with the Braves this weekend:

- the Phils will be in Milwaukee where they kick things off by having to face Les Mis tonight

- the Nats will host the Mariners

- and the Marlins will be in Pittsburgh

I'll likely have either Phils/Brews or Yanx @ Blue Jays on TV with the sound down while listening to NYM on radio. And then maybe flick on US/Paraguay when that game rolls around.

Misiorowski: CG, 1-hit shutout, 15 Ks, 0 Walks, 95 pitches / 72 Strikes

Brewers 6 - Phils 0

Oh yeah, and he hit 104.5 mph on the gun

When people shit-talk David Stearns, he tells them how he drafted Misorowski in the second round and wears it like a badge.

Marlins have been absolutely aflame since the Mets swept 'em.
