metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 23 Posted January 23 John DeMarsico started getting a lot of good attention over the last season for his excellent direction of Mets games , he announced on Twitter he is leaving in part because it became clear the future of the broadcast was moving in a different direction I and many here really appreciated his Mets broadcasts and I truly hope he isn't being replaced with AI slop Maybe Fred and Jeff are doing stupid Fred and Jeff stuff
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I did not know AI was intruding upon sports broadcast direction.DeMarsico produced impressive broadcasts. Some really dramatic divided screens. He also introduced an interesting way of showing the bases loaded with fast-action pans from base to base that, for all I know, was done with AI assistance. It kind of felt artificial and creepy, but mostly I really liked his scene-setting.
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I'm surprised to hear this. No matter how bad the Wilpons were at running the Mets, I thought they did a great job hiring good talent for SNY. Bill Webb was a legend before DeMarsico. And of course the broadcast booth is legendary.I hope the next guy is good. Really love the Mets broadcast.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted January 24 Author Posted January 24 I think there is more to this than we know, seems odd
