Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 14, 2025 Posted July 14, 2025 Small-town boychild is taken by his parents to see 2001: A Space Odyssey in 1968. Somehow, at eight, he is the only one in the theater who understands it. As he ages through his teens and approaches young adulthood, he obsessively makes his own films — at the same time juvenile and derivative and increasingly sophisticated — in his back yard. This causes him to both move ahead and lag behind his peers in emotional development, seeing the world as filtered through film shots and edits. When circumstances conspire to to allow him to witness an early screening of Star Wars, he becomes a teenage Cassandra, burdened with the knowledge that this film is going to change American culture and with it the lives of everyone he knows, but unable to convince anyone else that this is going to come to pass.[fimg=450]https://www.themoviedb.org/t/p/original/qvR1eaGOlwFLdjobLDzNzsT8tgu.jpg[/fimg]
