Edgy MD Site Manager Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 The ongoing series that has thrilled few to none this spring continues on with the back end of the rotation. We are so far back that Griffin may not actually be a flesh-and-blood Met, but actually a computer-generated character, sent out there so Austin Riley and Kyle Schwarber will have somebody to hit against until Sean Manaea gets back. And then he gets dragged and dropped into a trash folder. But maybe that is all garbage, and the Mets know what they are doing. Professor Griff had a promising enough start to his season, giving up two runs in 5 2/3 innings against the still-formidable Houston Astros, and he was as stalwart a Welsh corgi as you can find during the spring weeks, throwing 14 1/3 innings to the tune of a 1.88 ERA, and that's a tune nobody minds hearing. Add in that he had 22 Griff-Whiffs, with only five walks, and you might want to download that tune to your Zune.Maybe his ridiculously low ZIPs projection is ********. Maybe the Mets know what they are doing. Maybe you know what you are doing when you predict what season lies ahead for Griff Pocaroba.[FIMG=320]https://bloximages.newyork1.vip.townnews.com/thecutoffnews.com/content/tncms/assets/v3/editorial/b/39/b396e802-f50a-57f1-9be3-79a93be7b9ee/67e7f5f0c2d35.image.jpg[/FIMG] [FIMG=380]https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/ar_16:9,g_auto,q_auto:good,w_1536,c_fill,f_jpg/mlb/ytkwv57bowsm6uqub4up[/FIMG][FIMG=321]https://metsmerizedonline.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/IMG_5368-1080x720.jpeg[/FIMG] [FIMG=379]https://img.mlbstatic.com/mlb-images/image/upload/ar_16:9,g_auto,q_auto:good,w_1536,c_fill,f_jpg/mlb/ho4rbjdco5shvrio9vit[/FIMG]
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted April 4, 2025 Posted April 4, 2025 Gonna be rooting for this guy because he's so tiny. He's like a toy pitcher.I already think he's a "canny" get. 12-7, 3.66. A couple of clunkers but more often than not gives you 5 and a third innings of competence
Nick Morabito Syracuse Mets - AAA CF On Tuesday, Morabito went 2-for-4 with a walk. He also stole his 23rd and 24th bases. Explore Nick Morabito News >
