metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 5, 2025 Posted February 5, 2025 I had never watched Mad Men , one of the most lauded shows ever , I'm currently on season 2 , certainly a great character study of flawed people, great acting, not much of a plot though Hard to find on streaming
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2025 Author Posted February 19, 2025 About to finish season 3 , really picked up over the last few episodes
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2025 Posted February 19, 2025 As I recall it this show got worse as it went on. I wanted it to be a workplace show and they spent so much time at Don's house I got sick of it and dropped out at some point.

I wanted it to be a workplace show and they spent so much time at Don's house I got sick of it and dropped out at some point. I felt the same way. I liked the show very much overall. I've watched it from start to finish at least twice. But my least favorite segments were the ones involved Draper's domestic life, at least with his first wife in (presumably) Westchester. I didn't think it was so bad when he moved into that swanky Park Avenue bachelor pad when he hooked up with his secretary.
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted February 19, 2025 Author Posted February 19, 2025 Yeah, I'm tolerating it and it's not awful, just a lot of drama , Betty is very annoying 😆 I'm watching it as GF loves it and and the agreement is she watches Better Call Saul with me after this series is done
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted February 22, 2025 Posted February 22, 2025 Betty is the second-most hateful wife in TV history. (Skyler in Breaking Bad is the champ.) Like Breaking Bad, you root for the guy who is doing all sorts of evil and selfish deeds in every episode. That's the fun of it.

Great point, and we talked about this during season 3 finale , like ,why do I dislike Betty more than Don? , anyway , really getting into this
