Hi, I'm Jonah Tong from Markham, Ontario. I was drafted in the 7th round in 2022, and I will turn 21 next month. I spent April in St. Lucie, but after 36 strikeouts in 18 innings with a WHIP of 0.643 and a 0 ERA, I was handed a one-way ticket to Brooklyn. I've had some control issues since the promotion, but last night I got into the seventh inning allowing only one walk and one run. The next person to homer off me this year will be the first.

Don't know me yet? You will.

He did struggle a bit in June, but that can happen after a promotion. Hopefully the ship is righted.

Tong's last four outings: 22 IP, 2 R, 8 H, 6 BB, 32 K, 0 HR. I could see him tasting Binghamton before the season is out.

Jonah Tong had a perfect game going for 6-2/3 in a DH which, in the minors, is designated as a 7 inning game, and ... he was pulled from the game.

Reliever TJ Shook K'd his lone batter to complete the combined Perfecto for Binghamton.

I think I read he had thrown 99 pitches and the manager said his limit is 90.

But, WTF, it wasn't as though the kid was struggling.

He has 51K in 28 innings this year.

In a selfish mode, if the manager wants to give him extra rest, I hope his next start will be at Hartford when I'm at the game next weekend.

Tong is scheduled to pitch tonight, so I probably won't have a chance to see him in action on Sunday.

Jonah continues to roll.

His game last night:

6.0IP 3H 1R 1ER 3BB 8K 0HR and his season's ERA is now 1.73

I think there's nothing else he can prove at AA and he should be promoted soon.

I'd have to consider him a viable option at least in the pen down the stretch and into October. So yeah, tell him to get up early and beat the traffic on I-81.

Jonah kept rolling after the AS break.

His numbers Friday night:

5.1IP 2H 1R 0ER 2BB 7K his season's ERA is now 1.71.

To paraphrase that old song,

How can you keep him down on the farm,

While he continues to throw strike three?

Jonah is learning what it will be like when he is brought up to the Mets.

His numbers:

5.0IP 3H 1R 1ER 0BB 8K and his ERA is now 1.59.

And it looks like he will be the losing pitcher because his team is losing 2-0 in the eighth.

OE: He lost. His record is now 8-5.

Jonah is now 1-0 in AAA.

His numbers in his first start at that level:

5.2IP 3H 0R 0ER 2BB 9K and his ERA is obviously 0.00

He threw 90 pitches, and 60 were strikes.

His second start in AAA was just as impressive. The numbers:

6.0IP 5H 0R 0ER 1BB 8K and his ERA stays at 0.00.
