Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The Mets have claimed utilityman Kyren Paris from the Los Angeles Angels. He had a 100% success rate at going hitless last year, collecting no hits in 15 at-bats for the Angels. In a backwards sort of way, he had an impressively empty line in 2026: I didn't think it was possible to manage that much negative WAR in so limited a stretch, but apparently, it is. On the bright side, he is a former 2nd round pick and is still just 24 years old. He has a .364 OBP in the minors, and there's something to be said for that as his average is just .243. https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2026/10/mets-claim-kyren-paris-from-angels.html
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago The optimist in me says this was for two reasons: 1) it clears a spot on the 40 man roster (Pache was cut), so they can protect one more player from the draft and acquire a player (draft, FA or trade) 2) It means that Rojas and/ or Pitre will now slide into Pache's roster spot on the major league team. The pessimist in me says "meh". Later
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Wouldn't they have to get Paris through waivers too, though? Or he just takes Pache's spot on the 40.

The article is unclear whether Paris has been added to the 40 man roster. (Or maybe I missed it). If they can keep him off the roster, that would open up a spot. later
