Steve Drumwright Grand Central Editor Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago One big question has already been answered for the New York Mets. Bo Bichette will be back in 2027. The third baseman exercised his player option worth $42 million for next year, according to a report Thursday by Will Sammon of The Athletic. Bichette signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mets last offseason with opt-outs after the first and second season. Bichette's Mets career started horribly, with his slash line sitting at .213/.271/.299 on June 2 with five homers and 28 RBIs. But he would go 4-for-4 the next day and finish the season with a respectable .260/.312/.390 mark with 18 homers and 78 RBIs. His return gives stability for president of baseball operations David Stearns to rebuild the Mets' lineup following a disappointing 74-88 season, last in the NL East. View full rumor
