Steve Drumwright Grand Central Editor Posted Thursday at 11:10 PM Posted Thursday at 11:10 PM One big question has already been answered for the New York Mets. Bo Bichette will be back in 2027. The third baseman exercised his player option worth $42 million for next year, according to a report Thursday by Will Sammon of The Athletic. Bichette signed a three-year, $126 million contract with the Mets last offseason with opt-outs after the first and second season. Bichette's Mets career started horribly, with his slash line sitting at .213/.271/.299 on June 2 with five homers and 28 RBIs. But he would go 4-for-4 the next day and finish the season with a respectable .260/.312/.390 mark with 18 homers and 78 RBIs. His return gives stability for president of baseball operations David Stearns to rebuild the Mets' lineup following a disappointing 74-88 season, last in the NL East. View full rumor
