Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 FUN FACT: The Fielding Bible reports six left field guys with lower defensive runs saved (or higher defensive runs surrendered) numbers than Soto. Three of them have played far more innings, and one (Jose Fermin) just has an arm that no manager wants to see throwing a baseball.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 15 Posted September 15 It's a tie game [or it was until a second ago] in the 8th inning folks. Get back in your frickin' seats!!
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Gunnar Henderson — his 108th career homer!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted September 15 Posted September 15 If this Grant Wolfram guy isn't nicknamed 'Tungsten' then I'm thoroughly disappointed in his teammates. And his HS classmates for that matter.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Disappointed we didn't see Benge break for second in that inning.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Speaking of Oriole lefthanders, the ninth inning is brought to you by Ross Grimley and the beautiful creation of a mane that he wore under his cap.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Senga ain't gonna set himself up to be rooted against by his home crowd.
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 15 Author Posted September 15 Senga K-strand! Dead Boys! Let's Go Mets!!!
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Meh. At least Jonah pitched well.
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Great to see Tong pitch well. Good to see Ewing homer. And great to see how much love the fans have for Pete…but overall this game was just very depressing. A long-ago eliminated Mets team has their best crowd in months only because a beloved franchise icon is returning when he shouldn’t have been allowed to leave. Separately: Alvarez looks completely lost, completely fooled by anything that’s not a fastball, and was barely running down the line when he grounded out to third in the ninth.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 15 Posted September 15 Hey, the Mets aren't long-ago eliminated. Well, now they are eliminated.
