I like fun and joy. 
id tell my kid not to do it, but im totally ok with some dude who came from nowhere and fought and clawed all the way up from being a failed nobody nothing from nowhere into the doing his thing in the fucking major goddamn leagues and being ecstatic that he’s actually there, doing it. 
 

he’s celebrating that he’s made it, each time. And I’m ok with it. [most of the time]

Baseball is the only sport where the athletes aren’t allowed to be excited for that thing they just did. 
 

football players do this every time they run into another person and knock them over. Which is really something a normal person would apologize for. 
 

you put a normal person on a pile of dirt and they buzz a 95 mph fastball past a major league hitter three times and they’d have jumping beans in their shoes too.
