Vientos is a low BA & low OBP guy that strikes out far too much.  He doesn't run well and is a defensive liability wherever they try to play him, but he does have power.  Seriously, who would want to trade for Vientos for a stretch run?  If someone actually wanted him, I doubt the Mets could expect much for him.

That said, I hope he wasn't seriously hurt with that HBP on his wrist/hand.

It was an interesting spot he was in, with the tying run up and the Royal bench filled with lefties.  He pulls Manaea for a righty and the Royals pinch-hit right away.

He might be criticized for not having A.J. Minter ready as an option at the moment, to stick with the lefty but get a fresher arm.  But maybe Manaea was the best matchup.
