Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Maximizing their run potential in this inning. Nice to see for a change.

Vientos is a low BA & low OBP guy that strikes out far too much. He doesn't run well and is a defensive liability wherever they try to play him, but he does have power. Seriously, who would want to trade for Vientos for a stretch run? If someone actually wanted him, I doubt the Mets could expect much for him. That said, I hope he wasn't seriously hurt with that HBP on his wrist/hand.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago A starting pitcher in the seventh inning. I have the vapors.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I didn't think the Mets allowed such a thing. Keeping his pitch count down certainly helps. Currently, at 86 pitches through 6.6 innings.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Soto with his lazy defense turns a single into 3 bases.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 2 hours ago Author Posted 2 hours ago Well, two. Good time for bullpen action now.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Soto's gaffe immediately costs the Mets. May prevent Manea from getting out of the 7th.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Soto attones for his lackadaisical defense with a bomb to RF.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago The Nelson story is always welcome, but Joe Pigatano was not Casey's bullpen coach. On the other hand, he was a 1962 Mets backup catcher, so he may well have been the guy to pick up the phone.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 1 hour ago Author Posted 1 hour ago Thanks for swinging at ball four, Caglione.
seawolf17 Old-Timey Member Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Eleven and a half out of a wild card spot. Got 'em right where we want 'em.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted 25 minutes ago Posted 25 minutes ago I tip my hat to Andy Green for the letting Manaea finish the 7th
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted 19 minutes ago Author Posted 19 minutes ago It was an interesting spot he was in, with the tying run up and the Royal bench filled with lefties. He pulls Manaea for a righty and the Royals pinch-hit right away. He might be criticized for not having A.J. Minter ready as an option at the moment, to stick with the lefty but get a fresher arm. But maybe Manaea was the best matchup.
