Memories of Max Kranick

Max Kranick, who underwent elbow surgery partway through 2025, was non-tendered by New York following the campaign. He didn't receive get much attention during the 2025-26 offseason from other teams, however on May 6, the Nationals signed him to a major league deal, with an option for the 2027 campaign.

He wasn't a big name, but he was a solid piece of the bullpen in the early going in 2025, posting a 3.65 ERA in 24 games before being shut down. And that's my primary memory of him -- how effective he was despite his lack of pedigree. I also remember thinking the Mets should have brought him back and stored him somewhere in their system, just because he was so effective in 2025. 

He has made one appearance so far in the minors this season.

I remember him pitching well when he got a chance.

He might have been an effective piece in the bullpen.
