My husband had him on his fantasy team for awhile. Did nicely for him but for some reason hubby detested him and got rid of him. 
Was there ever a player you just couldn’t stand but just didn’t even know why?  
 

for me it was Jim Presley. Even now when I think of him I get that ‘feeling’ and for the life of me I don’t know why.

Can't think of one. When I disliked a player it was for one of two main reasons:

1- they did well against the Mets (but not all of them. Some I respected as good ballplayers. It was the ones who did their best against the Mets and weren't as good against other teams. )

2- they didn't perform up to my expectations when they became a Met.

Is there a rule that Braves hitters coming off the IL are required to hit a HR in their first AB back?

Remember that Ronald Acuna did that last year on the very first pitch he saw after a lengthy absence. Well today Drake Baldwin not only homered in his first AS off the IL but hit what is reported to be the longest HR in baseball this year, some 470+ feet off the batter's eye in Atlanta.

Braves are down 2-1 to the Giants in the 2nd (must have been a rain delay) anyway, but I'm sure that will be rectified.

The White Sox run through the gauntlet continues as they follow their series vs Braves and the Dodgers with one with the Yanx. But after going 4-1 vs ATL & LAD (+ one rainout) they're in the process of getting smushed 11-1 to the Yanx after four innings in the opening game in the Bronx.

Gained ground today on the Nationals (who were in the #3 WC slot as the day started), the Phils (who got smoked today albeit to the Marlins) and the Braves by at least one game and maybe one-1/2 as they lost the suspended game from Tuesday earlier this afternoon, and are in the midst of losing (5-2 Giants in bottom 7) the regularly scheduled Wednesday game as well.

Braves refuse to go down. They now have the tying run at the plate with one out and teh bases loaded, 7-4 Giants, bottom 9. SFG pitching change coming up.

Ozzie Albies up, 7-5 Giants, some guy named Beck for the Giants but I'm pretty sure it's not Rod

Now 7-6, runner on 3rd, two out, Beck vs Austin Riley.

And Beck strikes out Riley and the Braves lose a DH !!

That's 7 of the last 8 for ATL

Gain a game on the Phils plus a half on everyone else. Nats & Marlins were off while the Braves got rained out, which means they have to schedule a make-up game with the Giants at some point.

 

Oh, and the Yanx lost to the ChiSox.

Cincinnati Freds also idle, which gains them a half-game on that tasty 12th place slot.

Anything can happen if they can just join that pack.  You certainly can't expect San Diego to hold on to that last spot.

So while we're currently suffering from a case of Weekend Series Interruptus, the rest of the sport moves on. Important series going on starting tonight include: 

Nats @ Rays; Brewers @ Braves; Giants @ Marlins; and the Reds continue their New York/New York stretch with three games in the Bronx following a day off in NYC for the visiting Cincinnatians. Managers used to think of a day off in NYC as the worse thing for their players. Just getting back the same 25 you came with was tough enough.

btw, Braves are facing Misiorwski tonight, the Reds get Schlittler.   (If Schlittler has a dominant game against your team did they get Schlitlered-upon?)

Rays helping us out, up on the Nats, 5-2 in the ninth.👍

Yankees totally helping us out, up 4-0 on the Reds in the eighth.👍

Rockies are being the best they can be, leading the Pirates, 2-0 in the fourth👍

Royals also serving us nicely, beating the Cardinals, 4-2 in the fourth.👍

On the other hand ...

Brewers giving no help, losing to the Braves, 3-1 in the eighth.👎

Giants are a disappointment, trailing the Marlins, 4-3 in the seventh.👎

Cubs smacked the hell out of the Blue Jays, 16-2, which is a final.  What the hell, Toronto?👎

Not yet in the column of good news or bad news ...

Rangers are tied with the Padres, 6-6 in the fourth.  LET'S GO, BRANDON!!🤔

Not sure why you didn't just tack this stuff on the the (T)WiB thread that you yourself started this week, but ....

- the Brewers just had the tying runner thrown out at the plate for the 2nd out in the 9th for an eventual 3-2 loss. The Brewers are good enough not to HAVE to win Misiorowski's starts, it still suxx to lose them.

Rangers TCB against the Padres.  Jacob deGrom goes home with his 102nd career victory despite giving up six earnies in six innings.  Two doubles for Nimmo.

Mets spend their night off gaining half games on the Reds, Pirates, Nats, Pads, Cards, and Brews.

In early Saturday games:

- the Jays returned the favor to the ass-kicking they got from the Cubs yesterday by scoring 3 in the 7th then 5 in the 8th en route to an 8-6 win in a game the Cubs led 5-Zip thru 6.

- the Reds pounded out 15 hits today for a 10-2 win which is bad ... but it was against the Yanx so that negates the degree of badness. If we wind up losing out to the Reds (y'know, like we did last year) it's our own fault.

On Saturday all the NL East teams won (except the Mets of course) so we lost ground all around.

Today only Miami won with the Braves & Nats losing (to MIL & SFG).
