It's like watching a multi-decapitation car-crash with heads rolling all across the highway.Watching the Mets games of late is like some kind of Macabre Theater. It's really not fun to watch.I'm going to need more than one to sit through another game.https://img.freepik.com/premium-photo/three-full-beer-mugs-rustic-wooden-table_1022647-113.jpg>

Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I know I said this yesterday. But I think we win today. Less confident than yesterday though. I don't know anything about their pitcher, but he has good numbers. How is it that every team has good pitchers but us.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Better chance the Mets win than the Jets

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 If you pull pitchers after 70 pitches when they are shutting out the opposition, you are going to want for good pitching.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Just hoping Nolan throws enough strikes
kcmets Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Author Posted September 14, 2025 We're the squanderers, yeah the squanderersWe squander round and round and round
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Yes they are Nolan avoids injury late covering 1st base
roger_that Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I read that never before has a team gone 4-0 in the first inning then gone hitless for the rest of the game. Don't know if it's true, but I believe it. First time in 249 years a team has screwed that particular pooch.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Bases loaded for Soto with 2 outs. Time for the big hit.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 I am pretty sure neither Ron nor Gary (nor Keith, for that matter) know what a rhombus is.And I think Ron also confused geometry and geography.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Sproat and McLean have been terrific this weekend but that's only one element to winning a game
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 McLean into the 5thMets offense is still at the train station
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 A party of about 100 fans in right field cheering to the camera and waving Dominican flags.Brave folks.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 McLean has thrown 5 innings of shut out ball on 82 pitches. Going by Mendoza's usual usage of starting pitchers, I expect him to come out for the 6th inning and be removed should he allow a base runner.

The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 That play should never have been that close. Telez made a nice play, but Alvarez was getting a miniscule lead from 3rd and hesitated (one step then stopped) before breaking for home. Alvarez should have been off third as much as the 3B Jung was, but he was hovering near the bag like someone was holding him on. Rather fortunate to get the one run.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Less-than-stellar footwork by Rowdy, tagging the base with his back foot.Good throw, though. The Hot Corner wrote:McLean has thrown 5 innings of shut out ball on 82 pitches. Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2025 Posted September 14, 2025 Biggest double play in about three weeks.
