Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Chicks dig the stand-up triple!
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Lead off triple by McNeil to open the Mets 7th.The Mets have to drive him in.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Marte getting the beloved-veteran-off-the-bench treatment upon his introduction.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Is this (awful) Jon Cena rally video exclusive to the Mets or are there 29 other versions of it being played at stadiums not near you?
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Two unproductive outs so it falls to Mullins who promptly lines out. That was a painful, and very possibly a costly failure.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Author Posted August 30, 2025 Missed most of thisOops 11-8. Diaz fails
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 The Marlins get to Diaz to extend their lead to 11-8
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Well, that did not go according to plan.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 Mullins is tying run at the plate with 2 outs.
The Hot Corner Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 The Mets squander the momentum they had coming out of the sweep of the Phillies. Big game tomorrow as the Mets need to salvage a series split with the Marlins.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Author Posted August 30, 2025 Pitchers not named McLean or Peterson are having tough timesSproat just may get a shot
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 There were a handful of disappointing ABs in those last couple innings. Not just bad results but what looked like bad approaches.Vientos (twice), the 3-pitch K by Marte, and a few others. On the plus side, the Braves just tied up the Phils in the 6th
Gwreck Old-Timey Member Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 I guess if the team's best starter and its best reliever are going to have crap outings, may as well have them on the same day.The continued inability to put away bad teams is a real frustration.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted August 30, 2025 Posted August 30, 2025 They will win by 10 tomorrow, I think. Or not. My strategy in simulated baseball games was always to make sure, if I can't win, at least I get the tying run to the plate in the ninth. And they did that, but the dice roll didn't quite come up in the end. But hey, they've got six starters, and none of them are Montas. None of them are Blackburn. So tomorrow is looking good most days. I think they look good for the stretch run.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted August 31, 2025 Posted August 31, 2025 Devenski has been such a solid asset this year. It makes no sense for him to constantly be shuffled up and down. He's a known commodity, yet they've treated him like a no-name Quadruple-A guy in how they've used him.On the bright side, the offense is surging and for the first time in a long time they have a team batting average over .250. Alonso, McNeil, Lindor, Soto and Marte all have OPS+'s over 125; Nimmo is at 122. Alvarez is at 123. A good September could get them to 90 wins on the year.
