The beginning of an era

Eury Perez goes for the fish

I don't have evidence but I believe Lindor's defense and others to be subpar of late

I searched (superficially) for evidence that Lindor's defense was declining, to support my argument that if the Mets find Alonso's future more expensive than they're willing to pay, they can switch Lindor to 1B.

But while I still believe that (i.e., that Pete can probably get a better offer than the Mets will make, so we will need a strong offer AND Pete's willingness to play here for less), I couldn't find any statistical evidence (range factor, fielding pct., etc) that Lindor's shortstopping days were winding down.

My eyes, however, do still support that case.

Now we're superficially searching for evidence after being

asked ever day to answer unanswerable questions. Everyone

have a great holiday weekend.

Full name (acc to BB-Ref): Jonah Reid Tin Chee Matthew Tong

Gotta like that!

At 6' 1" / 180 he's a bit bigger than Pedro Martinez but that 1st-base-side lean as he delivers is a bit reminiscent of Pedro's older (and taller) brother Ramon

That beats the multi-name record of Saturnino Orestes Armas (Minnie) Miñoso.

Would I sound like a whiny baby if I complain, 'Where were some of these hits last night?!?'

I mean ... -ish?

Mets are on a pace for 48 runs tonight.

That goes up to 54 if there is a bottom of the ninth.
