A pair of lefties going tonight. No, not Bernie Sanders and AOC, but rather David Peterson and Jose Quintana

Those two former teammates currently sport identical ERAs (3.30) even if via very different methods.

This will be the 12th start of the year for the 36 y/o Quintana as he was out between May 9th and June 1st

His K/9 are down a bit from last season and his H/9 and BB/9 are up, so maybe some smoke and mirrors going on.

Peterson, meanwhile, needs to right his own ship following his two worst starts of the year: 10 combined runs on 17 H and 6 BB in 8.2 IP vs Philly & Pitt

Outings like that will fluff up your old WHIP

I like tonight's jersey, but the caps are def cub-scout-esque.

Even though he's not giving up hits, it's still three walks to the first 12 batters for Peterson.

Mets pitchers tops in the NL in walks and 3rd overall (ahead of only LAA & CHW). 325 in 87 games (3.74/G) coming into tonight.

It won't change anything but I'm up to my eyeballs with both Vientos and Baty

When you don't have the stuff to blow batters away, you have to try to nibble at the corners.

This game has a post season feel to it, to me anyway. Big crowd and my Beverage of choice Reign White Gummy Bear

Nice DP by Bayientos

Vientos-to-Baty-to-Alonso is a double-play of a third-baseman to an out-of-position third-baseman to a converted third-baseman.

Monasterio got game.

But the Mets get a run thanks to the Brewers positioning him in a bad spot twice in a row.
