MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted June 13, 2025 Posted June 13, 2025 MLB announced that increased drag on the baseballs has caused fly balls to travel 4 feet less this year than they did last year. The confirmation from MLB responded to a report by The Athletic, which reviewed fly ball and drag information available to the public. The review found that there has been more drag on the ball in 2025 than in any of the previous nine seasons during which MLB has tracked this data. Those results would appear to indicate that the ball used this season is different. Yet no cause for the increase in drag has been determined. https://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-acknowledges-that-increased-drag-on-baseballs-has-led-to-fly-balls-traveling-4-feet-less-this-year-181553140.htmlhttps://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/article/mlb-acknowledges-that-increased-drag-on-baseballs-has-led-to-fly-balls-traveling-4-feet-less-this-year-181553140.htmlLater
