ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Peterson has been pretty good. The bounces have gone the other wayI saw the name Jared Young and the first thing I thought of was Jarad Eickhoff

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 The damp cold air is keeping the ball in the ballpark
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Suddenly, nobody wants to pitch to Baty.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Now, let us make that Marte-in-the-two-hole decision look brilliant
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 He probably had no business swinging, and certainly not half-swinging, but I will take the outcome.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Slide feet-first into the plate, kids. You will be glad you did.Welcome back, Juan Soto.

ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 I thought I saw large caricature heads of Mets on tall popsicle sticks by the home dugout
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 I wish Ohtani would get nailed for tax evasion or something. I'm sick of hearing about him
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 Not sure I agree with the 'Good Send' logic.Think of it this way: you want Pete leading off the inning with the bases empty or hitting w/2nd & 3rd against either a tiring pitcher or getting into their tiring pen?The play at the plate also wasn't as close as they were making it out to be.
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 Pretty shocking that Gonsolin is still in. But they went through a lot of pen last night.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Posted May 24, 2025 Same here. He's going near 100 pitches regardless of outcome

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2025 Author Posted May 24, 2025 Here's where network announcers most frequently drop the ball. They tell us that Vientos is at bat as if he's been in the lineup all game. They've got too many other thoughts on their agenda that they fail to mention he's just into the game and who he came in for.
