Reliever Austin Warren will serve as the Mets' 27th man for both doubleheader games today. Technically, the team optioned him this morning to clear space for Blade Tidwell, but Warren is back up per doubleheader rules.



Danny Young also moves to the 60-day IL.

Dedniel Núñez is in St. Louis and expects to be active for Game 2 of today's doubleheader. (The Mets can option Blade Tidwell following Game 1.) Núñez says he feels physically strong after five weeks in the minors and is "proud" to be back with the Mets.

MLB.tv is advertising this one as their free game of the day, but when I go there, it looks like I need to sign up and all I can find is various pricing on their different packages.



Anyone know how to watch it (out of market) for free, or is this just some sort of scam? It certainly isn't very clear how to do it, if I can do it.

Fool me twice on Reed Garrett, but he's actually done very well this year. I was equally stoked about him last year at this point, then my enthusiasm faded as the year went on. He's matured from a strikeout-or-bust type pitcher which has really helped bring his WHIP down.
