In this week's MLB Fans At Bat survey, one of the questions was how I'd feel about listening to AI-generated broadcasts and recaps.

I find it hard to believe that Gary, Keith, and Ron will be replaced by AI any time soon, but it's an uncomfortable thought. I can imagine the AI commentator going off on a multi-inning tangent about ballpark food.

That would be coming back almost full cycle to the old days when games were "recreated". A reporter at the game would send a teletype to a radio studio and an announcer would read the ticker, adding some color, with crowd sound effects playing in the background.

Les Keiter did this the first year when the Giants moved to San Francisco and Ronald Reagan did it for (IIRC) the Cubs before he became an actor.

I guess AI could interpret and vocalize the ticker information, but that's one kind of nostalgia I'm not ready for.
