Since the one good offensive outburst of the entire road tripe (the final game in Denver) the Mets have been out-scored 29-2

He said, "Road tripe."

Put another way: the Mets have scored two total runs in the last 29 innings and have given up at least three runs in a single inning six different times during that span.

He had reached his boyling point.

So we finally got a couple runs, then have a couple runners on with three chances to get even closer ... and no one hits a fair ball for the rest of the inning.

The interesting thing is that McNeil and Álvarez went down in their respective classic manner.

Almost like the A's are reading scouting reports.

It was also a clean slide ten minutes ago.

And even if there was a 5% chance of getting that flipped, is it a smart move? When the downside to not challenging is runner on 1st and two out and the downside to challenging is not having a challenge for the rest of the game, I'd argue it was borderline stupid.

That it took so long to adjudicate is beyond borderline stupid.

If that nose isn't broke, it's because the brim of his hat broke some his momentum into the face plant. And the brim being driven into your forehead hurts like a mofo also. He was totally disoriented trying to get up.

The A's have:

- an infield single which set up a three-run inning (1st)

- an infield error which was followed by a 3R HR (3rd)

- an infield single which temporarily scored a runner from 2nd base (later overturned) (5th)

- and an infield single which did score a runner from 2nd base and set-up another run (6th)

So basically 8 of their 9 runs were linked to four separate batted balls in a six inning span that didn't leave, or shouldn't have left, the infield.

Damn, it's rough right now to get some runners on with two out and see Álvarez coming up, but that was a surprisingly decent effort at taking the outside pitch the other way.

Not decent enough, sadly.

Two hits and a walk vs four Oakland pitchers across four innings.

So the offense has had one good inning but only if you want to put the tag of 'good' on an inning where you go 0/3 starting with two on, none out, and a 3-0 count.

Surprising number of Oakland fans here tonight. Props for bringing the big “Sell” flag behind their dugout.
