Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 It's Saturday, there's a game scheduled, and I'm on an IGT roll. But my internet suxx this morning and I have places to go so this will be brief.Christian Scott will pitch against some other guy and you'll have to figure the rest out on your own.LGM and yadda yadda.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 The Rocks are sending Ryan Feltner to the mound. Ryan is a 27-year-old righthander who likely wishes he was employed by another organization, sporting a 1–8 record this season and a 7–22 mark over his career. He's a fastball/slider power pitcher who doesn't really have great — or even particularly good — marks in any one department, but he mostly keeps the ball in the park for a Rockies pitcher. He took a liner off the noggin last year. He continues to get high praise for "stuff" but the outcomes ain't showing it.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Iglesias not in the lineup Ben Gamel is in the lineup
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Lindor 6 Nimmo 7 Martinez DHAlonso 3 Stewart 9 Vientos 5 Gamel 7Torrens 2 McNeil 4 Scott 1Blackmon DHTovar 6McMahon 5Diaz 2Doyle 8Rodgers 4Cave 7Toglio 3Hilliard 7Feltner 1Surprised to see Iggy out
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Stewart, Gamel, and McNiggins all in the lineup.I feel confident in saying that there is room for Brett Baty on this team.OE: I assume that Nimmo is playing center there, and not left.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Have you read anything about how well Baty has been playing second base?I haven't noticed them turning many double plays.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Just moving the goalposts there. No, I haven't.
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Edgy MD wrote:Just moving the goalposts there.Nope. That was in my comment in the other thread:Whatever the cause, I need to see if he can pull himself out of the slump while feeling comfortable playing second base. That would be a true test in my mind before I would recall him.The posts for my goals are still the same.I haven't read anything about his defense, either.Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I don't know from the other thread. I respond thoughtfully to what you've written in this thread, and you ignore it and bring up a different argument.I also haven't seen any reports that he has done poorly on defense.Your insistence that he's in a slump and desire to see him do something you're not going to see without watching is setting an impossible bar. (Maybe he's been dynamite on defense?) These are both deliberately nebulous and therefore unreachable standards. One might as well say that he must first find the end of the rainbow.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Fair enough. Long live the other thread.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 (edited) The Mets haven't worn their home whites in a whileThere would be some gentle irony if Gamel has a monster game today Edited July 13, 2024 by Guest
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 I don't know if I care for bridge over the bill of Mets caps
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Gamel needed that walk too.I think we've figured out why Feltner's stuff hasn't translated. He has trouble working from the stretch.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 When you are going well everyone contributesAnd they are
metirish Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 That's the Jeff we love ,nice hitting
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Man, if the Mets get into the bullpen early here, it would be terrific.
ashie62 Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Mets need to keep the Rockies out of their own bullpen also
Centerfield Old-Timey Member Posted July 13, 2024 Posted July 13, 2024 Omg. What middle age guy from accounting is pretending to be Bill Pulsipher.
