Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 Wait ... the Mets are in third place?!?!
Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2024 Author Posted June 27, 2024 The Blue Jays stick a 1st inning five-spot on the Yanx and Carlos Rodon tonight in Toronto.Rodon, like Gil and most of the rest of their starting staff, had been very good right up until about the 70-game mark.In Rodon's case he had just one outing with more than 3 ER in his first 14 starts. But now that's changed:- 6/15 vs BOS: 5 earned on 7 hits & 3 BBs- 6/21 vs ATL: 8 runs (7 ER) on 11 hits in just 3.2 IP- tonight: 5 earned on 6 hits in the bottom of the 1stThat's 18 earned in two starts plus an inning. He had given up just 26 earned in his first 14 starts combined. And did I say it's 5-0. Well now it's 8-0 as my cousin George just went deep with two aboard. One out in the 2nd.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted June 27, 2024 Posted June 27, 2024 Mets pull within a half game of the final Wild Card spot just by enjoying their day off, as the Cards fall handily to the Reds, 11–4.
