Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Now, I'd pinch run Marte for Alonso.Don't chase, Tyrone.
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I think Bader is the most pleasant offensive surprise this season.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Wow.What's the alignment now? Vientos to first?
Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 I think it might be time to part ways with McNeil. He's a .280/.343/.394 hitter with a .738 OPS since 2021. Remove 2022 and he's hitting .259.
Radar Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 McNeil, Nimmo, Lindor boy that's a lot of money not producing at all. One third of their contracts should go to charity.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 If nothing else we're going to be sending the Ohtani groupies home disappointed.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Terrific job, Megill. Not a loser. We turn one of those double-plays and it's a different story.
bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 Bases loaded, 3-1 count, and Taylor watches it. And then the former batting champion fails again. Pathetic.

Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Let Nido bat or go to the suddenly heroic Narváez?

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 The Alonso-Nimmo-McNeil-Diaz (and Nido) core has been together since 2019.They're barely a .500 team.Add Lindor and Marte to that core, and they're still barely a .500 team. All these guys were supposed to make them winners. They're not winning.

Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Last year, they said they were building for 2025 and I guess they were right. Honestly, I'd trade Garrett and SRF now, while they still have value. DJ Stewart too, because his is quickly dropping as his OPS falls. Toss Narvaez for prospects and give the job to Nido and Hayden Senger/Matt O'Neill. Then ditch Nido at the trade deadline while they can still get something for him and by then Alvarez will be back I think. If the Mets aren't in it to win it, get rid of JD Martinez too, like they did with Verlander last year. He'd be worth something.

bmfc1 Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Author Posted May 28, 2024 MLB could put the 10th inning runner halfway between 3d and home and the Mets wouldn't score.
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Two of those failed DPs were on two-time Gold Glove Francisco Lindor.

Frayed Knot Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 (edited) The outs in the 9th & 10th innings, all with one or more runners on: K, PO, PO, K, FO, Kiow, ONE ball out of the infield, and not in a situation where it did us any good.Oh yeah, FOUR hits thru 10 innings, three of them singles. Cowtipper Old-Timey Member Posted May 28, 2024 Posted May 28, 2024 Mets are on pace to go 66-96.That's the worst team since ...1993.This is the worst team money can buy.
