Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 Drawn from many sources, bringing little fanfare as they arrived, your 2024 New York Mets bullpen is currently fourth in all the land.Their league-leading strikeout numbers are particularly impressive, and hopefull augur the notion that their performance to date is perhaps more sustainable than those of their peers.

[th]Rk[/th][th]Team[/th][th]W[/th][th]L[/th][th]ERA[/th][th]S[/th][th]IP[/th][th]BB[/th][th]SO[/th][th]WHIP[/th]1New York Yankees1252.3116132.2501101.102Cleveland Guardians1252.4413151.1451671.023Seattle Mariners542.798116.0401181.064Detroit Tigers1392.8111128.1491171.125New York Mets1262.8810137.1661781.196Los Angeles Dodgers773.2413153.0491361.057Boston Red Sox7103.298145.0461371.208Atlanta Braves1063.3210114.0351071.249Oakland Athletics843.4710150.1551571.2410Baltimore Orioles943.5112123.0461291.1511Minnesota Twins953.5113133.1521651.2012Washington Nationals863.6512135.2551321.3613St. Louis Cardinals593.6912127.0381301.2014Kansas City Royals873.8711121.056961.4415Milwaukee Brewers1443.8712142.0541301.3016Pittsburgh Pirates973.8710125.2551391.2417San Diego Padres764.0212145.2521341.2518Chicago White Sox3114.226143.0731281.4719Cincinnati Reds674.516127.2561361.3220Texas Rangers1064.599131.1651311.3221Philadelphia Phillies644.6112113.1471231.4122Chicago Cubs1094.6411145.1701471.4123Arizona Diamondbacks584.678140.2621141.4124Colorado Rockies684.684136.2661101.5225Houston Astros5114.713135.2631281.4226Miami Marlins4114.745161.1711541.4227Tampa Bay Rays1164.8011150.0791381.4128Los Angeles Angels534.938133.1581281.2829San Francisco Giants574.996144.1561451.3730Toronto Blue Jays645.2310127.1551061.41[FIMG=300]https://i.ytimg.com/vi/047Ei-SuXpg/maxresdefault.jpg[/FIMG]
Johnny Lunchbucket Old-Timey Member Posted May 9, 2024 Posted May 9, 2024 I read somewhere today that Yohan Ramirez has suffered among the highest declines in fastball velocity they've checked this year. What happened to Smith? And hen's he coming back?
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted May 9, 2024 Author Posted May 9, 2024 Smitty was DL'd with shoulder inflammation. He had a rehab appearance with Syracuse last night, and since he's starting right out at AAA, I imagine he'll get two more appearances and be a Met by next weekend at the latest.Assuming all goes well, of course.
Zach Thornton Syracuse Mets - AAA LHP On Sunday, the southpaw tossed five shutout innings as the bulk pitcher. He gave up 2 hits, walked 2 and had 5 strikeouts. Explore Zach Thornton News >
