What's black, green, and red?



The Mets donning their Friday-night blacks as David Peterson locks horns with flamethrowing Hunter Greene of the Cincinnati Reds. Roberto Clemente Day will be celebrated at Citi Field, but once the pre-game festivities are done, the atmosphere will be anything but clemente. Met bats will seek to turn on the some of the hottest heat baseball has to offer, and Francisco Álvarez will try to contend with a team of young, speedy Redlegs.



Ronny Mauricio has been out with an un-named illness, but it's totally not COVID so stop saying it is. Maybe Guillorme returns in his stead. In addition to the game, the first 33,000 through the gate will get access to a seat and a chance to have their picture taken at the ballpark by their friend with a camera phone.

Yeah, I was just thinking that those Kroger patches aren't helping the Kroger brand very much, and certainly not the Reds brand.

Weird.



Greene's slider doesn't do anything for me, but it works against righties because they're all sitting on the heater.
