MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I felt horrible that they sent my favorite Mets pitcher of all time to the Reds. But I'm glad they brought Al Jackson back to the organization and he stayed for many years.(who did you think I meant?)Later
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I strangely misremember Jon Nunnally as a tall, thinnish white guy.Good job putting Norman, Zachry, and Youngblood in a row, though Steve Henderson and Doug Flynn are elsewhere.

Also a coincidence that Dan Norman happens to be one of our interlopers. Norman never played for the Reds and debuted at the ML level as a Met. Same for Steve Henderson, who's not in the card thread, but if he was, he'd also be an interloper. Our other interloper is/was Bob Aspromonte, whose MLB career ended with his last game as a Met in 1971. Aspro was invited to the Reds 1972 Spring Training, but didn't make the final cuts. He did make Topps final cuts for its 1972 set, as shown below.Thank youse for not playing.[FIMG=165]https://img.comc.com/i/Baseball/1972/Topps---Base/659/High----Bob-Aspromonte.jpg?id=4c906680-2030-48fc-aa84-d761cdd874cd&size=original[/FIMG]
Edgy MD Site Manager Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 I tried to play. It's a lot easier to spot not-Mets interlopers than not-Reds interlopers.
