Edgy MD Site Manager Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 When you visit the https://www.mlb.com/mets/rosterMets roster page, Eduardo Escobar is identified by the number 10, which he wore for the team in 2022. BUT, as first https://www.mbtn.net/?p=3668scooped by Mets by the Numbers on December 26, we see that https://www.mlb.com/player/eduardo-escobar-500871Escobar's MLB.com profile page lists him as wearing #5.One would be a fool to think this is a preview of 2023, and not some sort of clumsy error, as #5 has all but assuredly been placed on eternal mothballs for the Mets. As Escobar previously wore 5 for the Brewers, Diamondbacks, and Twins, it's quite possible his profile page never had his correct Mets number, and it took until December 26 for an eagle-eyed MbtN staffer to pick it up.The real surprise here is that the roster page and the profile page reference two separate uniform number columns in the MLB player database. One would think that the failure is at the league office and not with the team, although perhaps team personnel are tasked with making updates to MLB's data.Anyhow, your assignment is to figure out who needs to be poked to get this page updated. Ten cranebucks to whoever buzzes the right desk. What kind of 5-and-10 operation are they running?

A Boy Named Seo Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 I think we just need some person on the Mets web/mobile dev team to fix it. this is in the source. I think our hero may need to update the data held in that container and that might be it. #5I bet La-Keisha can fix it or knows someone who can.https://www.linkedin.com/in/lmtowner/https://www.linkedin.com/in/lmtowner/
MFS62 Old-Timey Member Posted January 25, 2023 Posted January 25, 2023 Any ten year old kid walking by your house can probably fix it.Unfortunately, none of us are ten year old kids any more.sighLater
